The Psychology and Counseling Department of Webster University Geneva is very excited to welcome Dr. Fabio Macciardi, visiting professor from the University of California at Irvine. Dr. Macciardi is a certified clinical psychiatrist, epidemiologist and a well-known psychiatric geneticist who has worked extensively on the genetics of complex disorders such as Alzheimer’s, Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, Autism, Depression, Autoimmune Disorders and ALS.


In this interactive seminar, you will have the opportunity to hear about cutting-edge research into specific challenges in the process of language acquisition, including dyslexia, autism and multilingualism. You will also learn how language works and is organized, the evolution and history of language development in our species, and the basic process of language development in individuals.

Dr. Giuseppe Cossu, Professor of Child Neuropsychiatry at the University of Padova, and Head of the Unit of Cognitive Neurorehabilitation for Children at the Centro Medico of Foniatria, Padova, Italy.
